Jeremy and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year. So we decided to take a little trip to a place I've been wanting to go for a few years.. Chippewa Falls, WI.. I know, it's not very exciting. But, it's pretty.. and there is the Leinenkugals brewery there.
We left the morning of Monday July 28th. and saying by to the kids was tough.. for us and the kids. I don't think leaving the kids will ever be easy. Quentin cried, Cameron wanted to come with us, but was better once I gave him some peanut butter M&M's. and I dropped Ben off at daycare that morning, so he didn't really know any different. Nancy was watching them, so we knew they'd be in good hands
We hit up the Mall of America and Ikea on our way to Chippewa Falls. Nothing too exciting.
We made it to our hotel just after dark. The next morning we got up and hit Irvine Park. The weather was perfect. I was a little bummed that the petting zoo wasn't open. We still saw the Buffalo though and the scenery was good.

| You can't tell, but we're in a gazebo. |
After lunch, we headed to the Leienenkugels Brewery. Did the tour got some samples, picked up a couple shirts.. it was a good time. They don't let you take any pictures in any of the buildings except the Lodge. But the process of making beer is interesting. Highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area. The history behind this company is interesting too.
We face time'd with the kids every night. It was a lot of fun to see them.
We took a 2 hour detour to Wissota lake and park. The Dells of Eau Claire are in this park.. and it's nothing like the Wisconsin Dells, still worth seeing though.
We ate dinner by Lake Wausau -
We went a different route on our way home. a bit more scenic than 35, and it brought us to the National Eagle Center.. Which I didn't even know there was such a place. It wasn't open for business yet, but it's right on the Mississippi River in Wabasha, MN. It's a cool little town.

My goal is to get up to date by the end of the year. ha! So check back often.
