Fun Foto Friday - New Year, New Tradition

So I decided that with the new year, we'd start a new tradition. Our new tradition is to take one family picture on the last day of each month. I've actually been planning to start this for a few months, but couldn't find either of my tripods, so I bought a new one.

We actually don't have much planned this weekend, but I'm sure it will still be an exciting one! ;)

Weekend Fun!!!

We had a pretty low key weekend and stayed close to home.

Saturday before nap, Q and I headed to Lake Petoka to watch the DNR put 1500 trout in the lake. We actually missed them putting the fish in, but did get to see lots of people ice fishing and catching them.

My friend Kandi came over, and we finally had our monthly Pinterest get together. We made some baked tacos and a vodka slushy drink. Both were really good. We also did some etching on flutes, which was quite interesting. I wasn't sure they'd actually turn out, but they did, and it wasn't too hard.

These were our baked tacos. You can find the recipe here and her pictures are much better:

I know they don't look impressive, but once you add all the toppings, they were pretty good.
This is the etching we did on the glasses. It kind of worked
like those removable tattoos.

Other fun pictures from the weekend:

I had to take Camerons picture in this shirt
because it's the first and last time he'll
be wearing it. It's already too small
and he just got it at Christmas.

I've been working late a few days a week, and this is what
I came home to the other day!

Q showing Cameron the eagle.

Those eyelashes!

Those chins!! :)

Q and Jeremy created a new game. Jeremy drops the ball on Q, and Q hits it back up to him.

Lets Go Bowling!!

Q and I met up with Saran, Lena, Stella, Carrie and a friend of Saran's and her daughter Bryn on Saturday for some bowling. The kids loved it, although did get a little bored after about the 7th frame. They did great considering the time between their turns. With 4 kiddo's, it takes some time. And they all looked so cute in their bowling shoes. I wish we would have got a picture of all 4 kids.. next time.

We weren't quite ready to start yet, but Q was.. he threw a
ball down the wrong lane.

High Five!

Q got impatient for his turn, so insisted on helping Lena
when it was her turn.

We hung around the house today and watched it snow. Q wanted to go play in it before supper, so Grandma took him out and they had a blast.

Making snow angles on the deck!

And, one last picture - My new favorite!

Happy 5 months old, Cameron!

Cameron turned 5 months old on Tuesday. He's getting so big and continues to be just so smiley and happy all the time.

At 5 months Cameron...

- Loves chewing/sucking on burp rags. He also likes to just hold them.
- pulls and reaches for toys.
- talks non stop, especially when he's on the changing table.
- Eats cereal and baby food. So far, sweet potatoes and carrots are his favorite. He wasn't a fan of squash.
- Sleeps from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30a.m. The last couple mornings, we've actually had to get him up. He also takes a couple naps during the day.
- Rolls from his stomach to his back, but hasn't rolled back to front yet. He's almost there.
- He actually sleeps on his side.
- Grabs his feet every chance he gets.
- LOVES watching Quentin. He just smiles non stop at Quentin. Quentin loves it too, and is constantly showing him the book he's reading, or explaining the toys he's playing with. It's VERY cute, and I'm really enjoying it now because I know it won't last forever.
- Has such a good big brother. Quentin loves helping any way he can.

Now for some pictures!

Cameron loves his jumper!

Cam man is too tired! Couldn't even stay awake after
getting into pajamas.

Helping Daddy!

In other news - Quentin wanted to wear his big boy underwear on Sunday.. and, since it was bath night, thats what we did. He says he really likes wearing his big boy underwear and will go in the potty soon. We went through 2 pairs of underwear and then he wanted his diaper. My goal in doing this was to make him more aware of going pee, which I think he is now...a little anyway.

Catch up Time!!

This past month has just flown by!!

Sentences are flowing, routines are being made, fun is being had. Needless to say, things are going great in the Turner house.

Quentin's vocabulary is expanding like crazy.  He's such a big help with Cameron, always wanting to get his diaper, give him is binky, get his socks and read books to him. It's super cute! He also recently got another haircut.

Cameron's lingering cold is finally gone and we are getting back into a routine. (Who doesn't love a good routine?) We started Cameron on food. He's not so much a cereal fan, but does like green beans and sweet potatoes with cereal. He sleeps about 11.5 hours a night, and I can't believe he'll be 5 months in just a week.

On with the pictures!

Quentin loves pudding!

Stella and Carrie stopped over the weekend after Christmas. Stella loved playing with Cameron. She even leaned down and gave him a kiss. So cute!

Brownie faces!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Quentin got this hat at daycare, and he wanted to wear it all night. Do you blame him? :)

Cereal is gross. Although, I've never
tried it, I think it's safe to say, I'd
feel the same way.

New Years day, we headed to my parents house for Jeremy's birthday dinner. He requested and got sausage and potatoes.. for those of us that are not such a fan, we had pasta. Everything was excellent as always.

Q insisted he wear his hate while he ate dinner. (Kind of hard
to argue with).

Quentin thinks Cameron needs all
his toys in the swing with him.

Cameron loves playing on floor. and is liking tummy time
more and more.

Green beans aren't so bad. But, sweet potatoes are his
favorite. They were Quentin's favorite as well.

We met up with Saran and Lena this past weekend. We had dinner at Applebees, then headed to the mall to play in the play area and get ice cream.
