Happy Easter!!!

This weekend has been very busy. A baby shower yesterday morning, the zoo and coloring Easter eggs yesterday afternoon, Easter today.. Needless to say, We're exhausted. Q is beyond exhausted.  Q slept through most of the zoo, which was okay since half the animals weren't out yet anyway.

We met up with Brian, Saran and Lena at the zoo. Not sure how
thrilled Lena is to see Quentin since he loves touching her face.

Q loves his stroller, and so do I.

Who knew there were blue frogs?

Q didn't seem afraid of the Easter Bunny at all. Julian, however
wouldn't get any closer.

The start of coloring Easter Eggs
And the finished product. They are Monstrous
Today, Easter, Grandma Nancy stopped by for a bit, and then we headed to GG's for Easter dinner and some card playing. We played May I. The game is like golf, in that low score wins. I usually end up with the highest score, but today was different. For the first time in history, I won..with low score. I may just have to frame the score sheet.

We got Q a giant bouncy ball as part of his Easter gift.
He loves it and chased it all over the house all morning.

We had to try the bunny ears.. they didn't last very long, but
long enough for a picture.

After a few failed attempts at getting this picture, this is the
best we could do. Q does not like to sit still, especially when
he needs a nap.
As a side note - We found out this weekend that KaVon was selected to attend Central Campus next year. We couldn't be more proud of him.

Another side note - We came home to an empty bag of Reeces Peanut butter eggs. Frodo ate wrappers and all. So it should be an interesting next couple of days. So far, he's handling it like a champ.

April showers bring may flowers...

The weather here in Des Moines has been dreary, ugly and cold. But, hopefully all this rain will bring some pretty flowers. The flowers I planted last year are already starting to come to life.

Last week Carrie and Tre finally welcomed Q's newest friend. After more than a week past due,  Stella Nicole Scott was born on April 12th. She was 8# 21 inches long. After spending some time in the NICU, she's finally home. We haven't had the chance to hold her yet, but will very soon. I thought Q had a lot of hair when he was born.. until I saw Stella's. So adorable.
Sarah finally holds Quentin. We were in the NICU waiting area and Q lunged for Sarah.. Sarah had no choice but to pick him up.. and being the big hug giver Q is, gave Sarah a big hug. I think I'm still in a little shock that Sarah actually held him. And from the looks of it, you'd never know she doesn't like to hold babies.

Last weekend we headed to Kansas City. The weather was perfect and we had a blast hanging out with Bobbie, Dylan and crew. It was fun watching Q play with Dylan's toys. It was nice to see which toys Q played with and know which ones we NEED and don't need. Jeremy had fun shooting hoops, and now thinks we need a basketball hoop in our living-room as well. I have to admit, I'm not exactly opposed to it. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun and addicting. My cousin Chad stopped by to visit for a little bit as well. We can't wait for him and Vicky's new arrival to come within the next couple weeks.
Of course Q will be getting a giant ball in his Easter Basket

We had a ton of fun playing in the park. Q is liking the swing more and more each time we go.

On Sunday morning, we walked in the Trolley Run. It was a lot of fun. It was Jeremy's first walk and we're already looking to do another one. Q and Dylan did great in their stroller for all 4 miles of it.  Beth brought along adorable 5 month old Collin. He's already smart enough to know he'd rather be carried and see everything, than be in a stroller.

Before we headed home, Q gave Dylan the biggest hug. It was thee. most. adorable. thing. ever!!

A HUGE thanks to Bobbie and Dylan for having us. It was so much fun. We miss you guys already and can't wait for the next time.

We switched Q to the convertible car seat a couple weeks ago. It's not been his favorite thing, although he doesn't hate it either. So, naturally I was worried about the long car ride, but he did great both down and back. Of course we planned our driving time around his naps, and that worked out great.

Another HUGE thanks to my parents for watching Frodo and for dinner when we got back.

I think I'll go for a walk outside now...

What a day! And it's only Tuesday. We had Quentin's 9 month appointment this morning (I'll get to that in a minute). After dinner, we went on a walk. It was beautiful outside and Q loved it. As did Frodo.
Frodo wanted to bring his bone on the
walk with us.
Q's 9 month check up went really good. Only one shot this time, and that wasn't too bad. The finger prick on the other hand, was way worse than any shot he's received thus far. It was to check his hemoglobin and lead. Both came back normal. Hooray!! He's doing fantastic otherwise as well. Our pediatrician was impressed with how social Q is. He doesn't have much stranger anxiety yet, and hopefully it won't be too bad when he does get it. Or, maybe he'll be like Julian and have no problem talking to anyone. Lord help us if thats the case. :)

Top 10 facts of Q at 9 months (in no particular order):

-He weighs 18.4 (20th%), 28.5 inches long (70th%) and his head is 17 inches (10th%).
-He wears size 12 month pajamas and pants/shorts. 9 month tops.
-He waves and claps
-He crawls EVERYWHERE
-He is starting to pull himself up on things
-He loves going upside down, playing hide-n-seek, being chased, and playing with Frodo's water dish
-He does a lot of jibber jabbering
-He laughs and smiles all the time
-We always get compliments on how good he is. He hardly ever cries and is so outgoing.
-He is the highlight of our days.

Here are few pictures from this past weekend...
Quentin doesn't mind wearing hats, and
I love him wearing hats, so it's a win win
Bath time is becoming more and more challenging now that
Q can crawl. Changing his diaper and/or clothes has now
become a 2 person job.
Q's first visit to the park. He loved watching
all the other kids. We'll definitely be making
lots of trips this summer.

Chillin with Daddy!

I can see clearly now...

I learned last week that Q's vision is almost perfect. It was about 20/40, but is now almost adult like in clarity and depth perception. His eyes are probably close to their final color too. We think Q has chameleon eyes, as they seem to change anywhere from dark brown to light brown, to hazel.

Q turned 9 months on Saturday. When I dropped him off at daycare on Thursday, he waved bye-bye to me. It was the saddest, happiest thing. It made it much harder to leave him. I'm glad Jeremy has to do most of the drop offs. Q has also started clapping. Unless you count clapping toys together, he's been doing that for quite some time now.
We cheered the cubs on today, even though they lost.

Happy 9 Months!!

We had a fun filled weekend of baby proofing the house. The gates are up and the crib has been lowered. Q has definitely mastered crawling and is EVERYWHERE!!! Frodo's water dish is the first thing he goes for.

Last week I finally got to meet Nolan. He's adorable. He slept the whole time I was there and made the cutest squeaks and noises. It's hard to believe Quentin was that small at one time.
