And the fun begins...

Q has been so close to crawling, we knew it wouldn't be long. When I picked him up from daycare, they told me he'd been crawling all over the place today. He took a little nap on the way home, and an hour later, he was ready to go again.

Happy 12th Birthday KaVon!!!

Saturday was KaVon's birthday. We all headed to mom and dads house to celebrate with dinner, cake and ice cream.

Not very often are all 4 cousins in the same place at the same time.
Peyton, Quentin, Julian and KaVon
It's hard to believe KaVon is already 12 and will be driving in just a couple years. We had a good evening at mom and dads. The birthday boy disappeared when he opened his new video game. We also got to meet Jordan, who is almost 2 weeks old and hang out with Jayden.  Jayden loved the goofy phone mom and dad have. We'll have to get pictures next time.

Quentin has all kinds of new playmates either just born, or going to be born. I love having all these babies and kids around.

Speaking of Q.. I can't have a post without a picture or a few of him. We're still not crawling, but we have a tooth. One tooth has poked through on the bottom and there is another waiting. He handled it like a rockstar. Lets hope the rest are the same.

Q loves eating things in his this mesh thing.

Time flies when you're having fun..

So, I know you are all sitting at the edge of your seats waiting for an update on the chia pet experiment. So, without further ado...
This is my boss Cassys - You could say she's not a democrat fan, and throughly enjoyed submerging him in water for much longer than an hour. She also thought it was necessary to add eyebrows, a mustache(which turned into nose hairs) and a goatee.

Dino is doing really good despite a few bald spots.
Now, on to more important things -

Welcome Nolan James - On the 22nd, Serra and Jimmy had their baby boy. He was a few weeks early and has to spend some time in the NICU, but hopefully will get to go home very soon. Quentin can't wait to have a new friend to play with.
Grandma and Grandpa Calisesi are so excited, and their faces really show it.

The new happy Family - Serra, Jimmy and Nolan

In other fun news - Tune into America's funniest home video's sometime in May to see Charlie (my cousin Chad and Vicky's son). I have no idea what the video is about, but Charlie is a scream, so it's sure to be funny.

And, because I can't have a post without a pic of Q..

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

First off, I'd like to say thank you to PITT for ruining part of my bracket and letting me down the last few years. Every year I think this is going to be their year and have them making it to at least the elite 8. And every year, they barely make it past the 2nd round. Hats off to Butler for beating them, and I'm sure ruining many other brackets. Go KANSAS!!

Awhile ago, we (co-workers and I) thought it would be fun to get some chia pets and see how they grow. SO, last week they arrived and we quickly got to work on getting them to grow. By Friday, I already had little tadpole like things hanging.
Mine is the little dinosaur. I named him Dino.

Happy belated St. Patrick's Day.  Q was in style at daycare with is first St. Patrick's day onsie.  All the daycare ladies thought he was so cute.

Q's hair is always a mess when he first gets up. I think he gets it from me.

I and my co-worker and partner in crime, Haley, took the day off and perused the city. We also meet up with some old high school friends.  It was fun seeing them and brought back many many memories.

Quentin has been very busy lately. He's getting really good at the army crawl and getting in sitting position from laying down. "Playing" has gone to a whole new level.

Q's first tooth finally broke through last week. We could see a couple on the bottom coming for a few days and finally, one came through.

Quentin took his first bath in the big bathtub. He loved playing with his toys and splashing daddy.

We can't believe how fast this last 8.5 months have gone by. Jeremy and I realized yesterday that in just over 4 months, Q will be a year old. I want time to slow down, but at the same time we're looking forward to birthdays and Dianna's wedding September.

March Madness with Julian and Happy Birthday to Uncle Jerry!!

We were up bright and early Saturday morning. So early, Q and I had time to play, take a short nap and hit Walgreens for dog bones and Clariton all before heading off to Julians game at 8a.m. I don't mind the 4a.m. wake up calls..except for the weekends. Usually Jeremy gets up on the weekends, but he's still fighting some sort of sickness and broke out in a rash the night before. Luckily, the clariton cleared up the rash in 1 day.

Julian did a awesome at his game. He's kind of confused on the offense/defense thing and a little confused on who to guard. He may have had times when he was defending his own teammates. BUT, he plays defense very well and I'm sure will get straightened out before next season.
Quentin loves playing with KaVon and his glasses.
KaVon played right after Julian, but at a different location. Quentin was exhausted after Julians, so we didn't make it to KaVon's game. We'd gone to a couple of KaVons earlier in the season though, and he gets better and better every game.

I had to work for awhile on Saturday afternoon, but otherwise, we've done nothing but hang out and play all weekend.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jerry!! Gotcha Last!!

Q's first swim and what I gave up for Lent

This past weekend we had a fun swimming play date with the Davis Family. Saran and Brian have a 4 month old named Lena, who is a doll. We headed to the Waukee pool for the kiddo's first pool experience.
Q wasn't sure what to think of the water. He just watched and took everything in, like he does most things. His favorite was watching other kids throw a ball back and forth.  We'll definitely be doing the pool thing again soon.

Lena was so cute in her swimsuit and loved the water.
We headed back to Brian and Saran's for pizza and more play time for Q and Lena.  It's amazing how different an 8 month and a 4 month are right now. And later in life, there isn't really a difference at all.

I gave up Facebook for Lent this year. It's been 3 days so far, and I have to admit, I kind of miss the entertainment value. But, it will all still be there when I get back to it after Easter.

Has it really been 8 months??

8 months
On Wednesday Quentin turned 8 months. Everyone always says the time will go by so fast. But you never know JUST how fast until it actually happens.

Daycare is going really well. Q really likes watching other kids, so naps aren't going so good. But, he sleeps great at night and takes good naps on the weekends. He is, however, an early riser. We're usually up and playing around 4a.m.  I'm thinking he'll be grandpa's right hand man when it comes to people watching at the fair.

Quentin is also really starting to love bath time. By the end, I'm not sure who gets more wet. Jeremy or Q. Quentin is a splasher. We bought him some bath toys thinking he would want to play with them instead of splashing so much.. but that didn't really go as planned.

Frodo has been really good with Quentin. He often brings Q his toys and wants to play. Which is really cute until the toy is Jeremy or I's sock. On a good day Q will actually grab the toy and play with him. Quentin thinks Frodo is so funny. All Frodo has to do is walk up to Q, and he'll start giggling. It's pretty cute. I'll try to get a newer video of it.
Frodo is always near by.
Notice the sock that Frodo was kind enough to bring Q.

Q has started to try crawling. He gets almost up on all fours and then crashes. I don't think it will be much longer before he's got the hang of it though.

We're maybe heading to the Y this weekend for Q's first pool experience. I'll post pics of that soon. We're really hoping he likes the cold water as much as the warm bath water.

Q's opthamologist appointment

We headed to the Wolfe Eye Clinic for Q's appointment today. Checked in and waited a few minutes. A really nice nurse talked with me for a few minutes, looked at Q's left eye and then called the doctor in to look at his eye before they dilated them. Q was in a super good mood and kept smiling at all the nurses and doctor. After the eyes were dilated, we had to go back to the waiting room for about 10 minutes.

Another nurse came and got us for the doctor to look at Q's eye again. They took measurements of the spot and were looking to see if the spot was just on the surface, or all the way through his eye. We did have to hold down Q to get a good look and be able to measure the spot. Of course he wasn't happy about that. But, I was able to confirm, no teeth yet. Several nurses came in and out of the room.. All wanting to see Q's eye. Apparently, it's not something they see very often. Q smiled at each one and they all thought he was adorable and had a ton of hair.

Good news! It's just like a freckle on his eye. We're to watch it and make sure his pupil stays round and the freckle doesn't get darker. We'll go back in 4 months for a follow up and the doctor will measure again.

The best picture to really see Q's Sectoral Heterochromia or Iris Nevus
