Better late than never!

I know I've been slacking a little, but hey, we're busy people, and my bedtime is 9pm these days.

Here's a recap of the last couple weeks.

We are still trying to get Q used to his new big boy bed and bedroom. Jeremy added a few decals, which were a big hit with Q. It's going pretty good, and from the stories other parents have told me, we seem to be having it really easy. So, I'm not complaining.

We frequent the park by our house often and Quentin is really starting to like the swing. Although, the twisty slide is still his favorite.

Where's Quentin?
At home, Daddy is still his absolute favorite toy. Quentin loves when Jeremy chases him, and lets him jump off him.

Last Saturday morning, we met up with Brian and Lena at the Jordan Creek play area. Q and Lena ran, ran, ran and went down several slides several times.

Lena kicking Q because he wasn't going fast enough.
Jeremy and Q playing peek-a-boo. Still one of Q's favorite
games.
practicing summersaults!

Lena finally got her hug in.

Saturday afternoon we went to Jeremy's company picnic.

Q doing a little work for Daddy.

Q is still not a fan of the bounce things. it probably didn't
help that they were in the direct sunlight on a hot day.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!

Saturday night, we went to my parents house to celebrate fathers day with my dad. Since he does most of the cooking, we gave him the night off, and ordered pizza. Annette made some amazing brownies for desert.

Goodbye hugs for Grandpa

Sunday morning, Q and I got up early to wrap Jeremy's present (Yes, I'm aware I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator).

Q drawing a picture on Jeremy's gift.

And helping put Millennium Falcon together.

Grandma Nancy stopped by in the morning as well.

Water is always fun.

After lunch and nap - Q and dad were back at it.

It's amazing how many kiddo's you can fit in the smallest pool

This past week, we went to Julian's last baseball game. He was stoked to play catcher and got better and better as the innings went on.

Of course Grandpa had to get Q a sucker.

A little pep talk

Saturday morning - we had a play date with Wynn, Brecken and Tate. I used to work with Wynn and she's played many years of volleyball with me. It was Q's first time meeting them, and he cried when they left.  I'm sure this won't be the last play date we have with them.

We headed to Costco after Q got up from his nap. I had been walking past this giant bear the last several times I'd gone, and talked myself out of buying it.. After about a year, we finally brought one home with us. It's soo soft and Q loves it.

Q stands at the window singing "rain rain go away"

We spent much of the day at home, getting some yard work done. We did manage to have some fun and get Q's 2 year old pictures taken and a little pool time.
And his singing must have worked.

Now, for the Herky update - We're doing great and have 8 weeks or less left. We had a doctors appointment last Monday and now start going every 2 weeks. He's measuring a little ahead, although they didn't say exactly how much. I'll meet with my actual doctor next appointment, so we'll see if he schedules an ultrasound, which I'm secretly hoping he does.

It's Happening!!

Quentin is becoming a 2 year old right before our eyes! At daycare, he's been taking his naps on a cot for awhile, and this last week, he has been doing a speed transition into the 2 year old room. Usually they start them out just going to the 2 year old room a couple hours a day. Q has done so well, he's spent all but breakfast in there. Even napping and eating lunch. All the teachers are pretty impressed with how well he's handling the transition. And, that makes it so much easier on Jeremy and me.

Q is going through another transition at home as well. We spent the weekend getting his big boy bedroom ready. Friday mom and I spent the evening painting. It went fairly quick, and only needed a few touch ups on Saturday. Saturday night - we ended up at Homemakers purchasing bunk beds. Thankfully mom and dad weren't too far away, they were able to pick up and deliver the beds to us. Jeremy wasted no time in getting the bed put together on Sunday morning while Q and I had a play date.

Tonight is night 3 of being in his big boy bed/bedroom. The first 2 nights were a little rough getting him to fall asleep. Tonight went great and no crying was involved. He did however, play in his room for an hour before finally laying down and falling asleep. How our parents survived without video monitors is beyond me.

Bedroom before - There were panels on the wall
that we had to take down and fill the holes in as well.

After - we painted a couple walls navy and a couple a very
light tan.

Q loves his big boy bed....

...And his new reading chair.
Of course we still managed to have some fun this past week/weekend -

Wednesday night, we took Q to get his 7th haircut. I may have to take up some classes to learn how to cut it myself with as fast as it grows.

The teachers at daycare had fun with Q's
hair. They put either gel or hairspray in it
and slicked it to the side. It didn't actually look
that bad.

all done - but I'm not giving up this sucker.
We headed to Peyton's softball game on Thursday night. Even though they didn't win, she still played great!

2 of Quentin's favorite things- Grandpa
and suckers.
Saturday morning, Q and I, along with Carrie, Stella and the Hamilton Family, participated in the Autism walk. The race was suppose to be an un-timed 2 mile walk, doing the same lap twice. We cheated and only did 1 lap.
Q and Stella playing in the water before the race

Q giving Stella a hug.
Geffory the giraffe was there. Q and
Stella were more interested in the band
Jackson, Wyatt, Q and Stella
Wyatt and Jackson slept most of the time.
After the walk, we came home and played in the pool for a little bit, and then it was lunch and nap time.

Sunday - we had a play date with Nolan in the morning. The kiddos played great together, even taking turns splashing.

Snacks on the deck

Q putting cups on his toes and trying to lift his feet.

It was hard to get them to look at the camera at the same time.
Q layed out for 2.2 seconds.
and for some reason, he liked dipping his hair in the pool
and slurping the water as it ran down is face.
Herky and I are doing great. We made it to 30 weeks and have a doctors appointment on Monday. After this visit, we'll start going every 2 weeks, and thats when the time will really start to go fast.
