Weekend Fun!

We continue to stay busy busy busy. We started the weekend Friday - Jeremy got off work a little early, so we picked Q up from daycare and headed to the park.

He's getting really good at this walking
thing, but still walks like a zombie at times

He loves the swing, as long as it doesn't go too high or too fast

Saturday mornings we have a swim class. While I'm not thrilled with the instructor, it's fun to get in the water and play with Q. He loves it! Saran and Lena also signed up. It's so fun to watch the kiddo's interact.

They went from laughing to being so serious. :)

Lena and Q having a little snack while Saran and I finish
getting changed in the locker room.
Dianna had back surgery on Wednesday and I play sand volleyball Wednesday nights, we decided to have my birthday dinners this weekend. So Saturday night we headed to Olive Garden with Grandma Nancy (Jeremy's mom). Going out to eat is 10 times more work now with a toddler.

Q loves being outside so after dinner
we took a walk up the street and back.

Sunday morning we played at home for a bit.

Poor Frodo is always getting his ears
pulled. I think Q loves how soft they are
We headed to the park for a little after lunch and once again Q loved the swing. Actually cried when we took him out of it until he saw the other things he could play on.

Sunday night we went to my parents for dinner. Dianna was actually up to getting out of the house and joined us. She's doing really good and getting around better and better everyday. She still can't bend over or lift anything heavy...and she walks a little funny.. but we won't hold that against her. :)

Q always remembers the goofy phone.

For desert, we had ice cream sundae's. Julian and KaVon
had an oreo licking contest. We're not keeping track, but
KaVon won.

September 21st....

...Must be a lucky day. It seems lots of good things happen on Sept. 21st. If it's not a wedding, it's a birthday. Today also happens to be surgery day for Dianna, but before I go into that, here a couple pictures of people who celebrate good things on the 21st..
Happy Anniversary to Jeremy and Stef - (This picture was
actually taken at my wedding)
Happy Birthday to the adorable 3yr old Zoey!
And Happy Birthday to Gretchen - Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of her to post.

I also share a birthday with these other good friends of mine - Faith Hill, Nicole Ritchie, Ricki Lake, Steven King and Bill Murray... just to name a few.

Dianna is set to go under the knife this morning at 11 to remove something that is up against her sciatic nerve. She was actually lucky to even make it down the isle (thank god it was short) for her wedding a couple weeks ago and was able to hold off on surgery until now. So please say a little prayer for her. We're hoping all will go well and she'll be able to sleep in her own bed tonight.

Happy Wedding Weekend!!

We started the weekend on Friday - Q had to get his haircut for the occasion. Misty did a great job. Q gave her the biggest hug afterwards. For those of you keeping track, this was Q's 3rd haircut.

Q loves his new cousin Peyton
Saturday - the Big day!! and no, I'm not talking about the Iowa v Iowa State game. But since we're here - I have yet to watch it, but I call shenanigans. Thanks to all who sent me updates. Now on to the photo bomb.

Q and daddy having a snack before people start arriving.
Q played while we waited until it was time for us to walk out.

The only picture I got of them both actually looking at me.

Because what wedding doesn't have a giant cardboard
cut out of Herky?

Julian did a great job helping Q down the isle.

Dianna may be just a little tired from taking pictures.
Peyton is officially my niece. ;)
Q and Jeremy did not join us for the reception. They stayed home with their 104 temps. I still had a lot of fun. It was great seeing everyone and we can't thank them enough for coming.  A Huge congrats to Dianna and Eric. We're so happy for the both of you.

Thankful for long weekends..

It was a rough weekend. The weather was perfect, so wanted to take Q to the park and had other things planned. But, instead, he decided to come home from daycare with some sort of virus. He was super clingy all weekend and by Sunday if he ate anything, it didn't stay down.  So we snuggled most of the weekend (which made me miss all the snuggle time we used to get when he was younger). Finally by Sunday night, we gave him some pedialyte in small doses, and that seemed to settle his stomach. On Monday he slowly got better as the day went on. Today, he seems to be doing even better, although still not eating the greatest.

We did manage to find time to cheer the hawks to their first victory of the year. We practiced all morning saying "Touchdown Iowa" and raising our hands.
"TOUCHDOWN IOWA!!!"
Q and me being silly.  He loved looking at his own picture

Touchdown?? Like this??
When it wasn't raining, we practiced walking
outside.

On Monday goldfish and water made him happy

The 2 things that made him forget about being sick, were taking walks outside, and playing with Lego's.

I wasn't sure if he'd be going to daycare today, but no fever since Sunday and he woke up smiling, so, off to daycare he went. He's still not eating the greatest, but he's getting there.

Q was also kind enough to give both Jeremy and I colds. I don't feel horrible, I just can't breath, smell or taste.  In the end, I'm thankful we had an extra day this weekend for some extra recovery time.

This weekend we have Dianna and Eric's wedding and can't wait. So, tune in for pictures from that.
