We had Cameron's appointment for his blocked tear duct yesterday. Cameron did great, although wasn't a fan of being held down for his eyes to be dilated. The nurse said he has a stigmatism, but Dr. Suh didn't think it was enough to need glasses. After he examined him, Dr. Suh said, they'd need to probe the tear duct open. I asked if he thought it would eventually open on its own, and he didn't think with the severity (based on the amount of goup currently in his eye, from just being there the short time we were) of it, that it would all the way, and we'd still be left where we are today. Cameron has been itching it more lately, so I decided to go ahead with it. Oct 28th is the day.

Another 2 week..
..I'm beginning to see a pattern.
Of course, we keep busy around here.. or, more like these boys keep us busy. Cameron is on the move and walking EVERYWHERE. Quentin was so easy when it came to child proofing the house, we didn't really have to do anything. He didn't try anything crazy. Cameron, however, is into EVERYTHING, and if he finds a hole, he's going to try to put something in it. His favorite thing to get in though, is still Frodo's water dish and under the kitchen sink.
Cameron at 13 months, overall, is doing great. He loves to hear his voice, and talks all the time. We did have to take him to the doctor last week for a rash that he's had for 3 weeks. The doctor couldn't tell me what it was, but he did know, it wasn't an allergy, bacterial, hand foot and mouth or contagious.. which leaves us with a viral rash with no ointment or medication to treat. Of course, it started to clear up 2 days after going to the doctor. It's still not completely clear though, hopefully it will be soon. We have his eye appointment this week, and hopefully will have some answers with that as well. In the mean time, he'll continue to be toothless and happy. :)
Quentin continues to amaze us. Everyday he says a word we didn't know and does something we didn't know he knew how to do. I'm afraid he's teaching Cameron bad habits.. like climbing on the counters, and climbing in and out of Cameron's crib. Cameron is always watching very closely and appears to be taking mental notes. Quentin is still such a good brother. He likes to share with Cameron, and help him walk, and will help him get up when he falls. It's so cute and fun to watch them interact.
Quentin continues to LOVE pre-school and asks if he can go even on the weekends. It makes me happy he likes it so much, and so far, it hasn't been a fight getting him there. He even still likes to wear his backpack. Which, I was expecting to have to carry everyday.
Soccer is going okay. He likes it, most of the time. Last Friday was an exception, and he didn't want to participate at all. He was also going on no nap, which I think played a big role in his attitude. I'm sure this week will go much better.
So, thats our last couple weeks in a nutshell. I'm liking these low key weekends and great weather.

Fun Foto Friday!
It's often assumed, if you're laying down, you must want to be jumped on. Cameron has no hesitation joining in on the jumping.
Happy Friday the 13th! And GO HAWKS!!!

Another Catch-Up Post!!
We had a busy August and I'm looking forward to a low key September, with lots of football watching.
We headed to Grandma GG's for our August Birthdays and brunch - Julian and my mom. I can't believe Julian is EIGHT!!! Huge thanks to my grandma for having us all over. I know cooking for us isn't an easy task.
Happy Labor Day!! Quentin and I headed to Chicago with Carrie and Stella over the holiday weekend. We didn't have much planned, except the annual "Dylan goes to Wrigley Field" game. We had a ton of fun and the kiddo's were great little travelers. We didn't get to visit with cousins as much as we wanted, but it was great to see Heather and Alex at the game. We definitely need to go back without kids.. Soon!
On Sunday we met up with others to mini golf. The mini golf wasn't open yet, so we played in the park instead. It was great to wear the kids out before the long car ride home.
On the way home, we had several stops (I think Q mastered the "I have to go potty" thing when he ws tired of being in his car seat). One of them was the outlet mall at Williamsburg. It wasn't very busy, so Q got to run from store to store.. it was a great way to release some energy.
We finally made it home with daylight to spare. Next time, Jeremy and Cameron will come.
September 2nd - Huge Happy Anniversary to my parents. They've survived 36 years!
This past Friday night was Quentin's first go at soccer. We signed him up months ago, and I've been looking forward to it ever since. There were a ton of kids, so I thought he'd be a little overwhelmed, and he was at first. But, once he got the ball and started kicking it, he didn't want to stop.
The neighbor guy put together a little fishing derby at the pond near his work. So, Saturday morning, along with all the other neighbors, we headed to Ames for a little fishing. It was a lot of fun, despite the lack of fish. Jeremy and Quentin actually caught the first fish.
Saturday night, we had outdoor movie night at our house. All the neighbors came over, and we watched Wreck It Ralph on the big screen. It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to do it again.
Other random pictures from the month -
Quentin and Cameron have really started to play together these last couple weeks. It's so funny to watch and I love hearing them laughing at each other.
Who knew a piece of ribbon could be so fun? Q was dragging Cam with it, and Cam was laughing so hard, he couldn't hang on to it.

Quentin joined some guys in the back row. They were so nice to him.
Ipads were a staple at bed time. Monsters Inc was watched several times.

Making friends with the coach
I can't get over how old he looks in this picture, and how bad he needs a haircut!
They went around the circle and told their names. Quentin said his full name, and the coach didn't hear the first part, so he kept calling him James. It was quit funny.

Our garden has life.. Lots of life. I pick about 4 tomatoes DAILY!! I may have planted a few too many tomato plants.
Cameron loves his pasta!! ..and cottage cheese.
