Gobble Gobble Gobble!!

Another busy weekend here and gone. Friday night Jeremy and I headed to the Blue Moon Dueling Piano bar for cousins night. We had fun chatting and watching old people try to pick each other up. And, then get kicked out. It was great. We were so glad a few from Illinois joined us as well. Maybe next cousins night will be in Silvis.

Q's outfit for his Halloween Party at daycare

This is the older lady that got kicked out. She was hilarious
and very entertaining.

This guy was equally entertaining and was trying to get his
friend to ask the older lady out.

All the cousins that came out.
Saturday, we went to Lena's birthday party. I can hardly believe she'll be one Wednesday. Q loved playing with her new toys.

Q did not like wearing the birthday hat.

Lena loves giving Q hugs.

We hung around the house most of the day Sunday. Sarah and Jeremy stopped out to see the new place and Grandma Nancy stopped over as well. And then it was time for Q to go Trick-or-Treating. He had so much fun just walking around the circle, we only made it up to one house. And that was because I carried him. We headed home after about 15 minutes and he helped hand out candy with Daddy instead.  We are constantly calling Q our little turkey, so we thought it was very fitting to get him a turkey costume. All the kids thought Q was so cute, and they loved Frodo as well. Of course Frodo loved all the attention and sat very good while they pet him.

Have you seen a cuter turkey?

The new house is great. We're slowly getting settled in, Although there is still a lot to unpack. Frodo is loving the big back yard.

Finally getting there...

Finally - we have internet so I can update the blog..and check email NOT from a phone.

The house swap is finally complete. We completed the sale of our house on Friday afternoon, and closed on a new one. And, after a moving nightmare, we are finally getting settled in. Of course there is still a lot to unpack, but the important stuff is done. A HUGE thanks to our family and friends for all their help with moving, packing, unpacking and bring us food.  We couldn't have done it without you all and can't thank you enough.

Of course I had my camera with me at all times.. but I'm just now finding the cord to upload the pictures. So here are some pictures of the house.

Quentin is constantly running around and finding new things to play with.

Quentin discovered he could climb onto this
bench to reach the light switch.
The Davis' stopped over and Lena is so funny. She kept
chasing Q and giving him hugs.
Frodo is adjusting. He loves the yard, which is huge, and the basement which is also huge.

Fun Foto Friday - Surprise - We Moved!!

We signed all the papers to close on a house today. We couldn't be more excited about having a basement and a yard for Frodo and Quentin.  More to come later.. lots of stuff to do.

Happy 15 Months!

I realize Q is now almost 16 months.. but, better late than never.

Quentin continues to amaze us each and every day. The pediatrician gave him an A+ at his appointment last week. He measured in the 47th percentile for height, 20th for weight and 12% for head.

Q's top 10 at 15 Months:

10. Quentin amazes us daily with how many words he can say. He now says  25-30 words and it's pretty clear to us what he's saying. but, probably not to everyone. It seems like he says a new one everyday. Today's word was row..as in Row, Row, Row your boat.

9. He would live outside if we'd let him. And he will bring us his shoes to let us know he wants to go out. He will also go over to the gate and start jiggling it and try to open it.

8. Loves banana's so much, it's the first word he says most mornings. He will often eat 3 a day. I've never bought so many banana's in my life, nor did I ever think I'd be making banana runs. Oatmeal and corn are his other favorite foods currently.

7. He has 5 teeth on bottom and 6 on top. There is a stubborn tooth trying to come in thats been bothering him a little, but otherwise, he's handled them like a champ.

6. He understands pretty much everything we say and do.

5. Follows simple commands and loves helping. he's really enjoying picking up the smallest piece of garbage he can find and throwing it away all by himself. I too am enjoying this. :) He's a great little helper.

4. He plays catch with himself, which is super cute and he is proud of himself. We're working on holding our arms out to catch.

3. Is starting to try and jump off furniture. The first time he did it, he jumped off the couch. It didn't end up so well. Thankfully it wasn't an Urgent care or ER visit, but I'm sure at least one of those will be in order soon.

2. LOVES looking out the window with Frodo and saying, "woof woof" at all the dogs that pass by.

1. Continues to bring joy to our lives each and every day.

We rarely have the TV on before Q goes to bed.. and this is why. $10 to
anyone who can guess the puzzle though.

He's still rear facing in his car seat and doesn't have
any problems with it.

..And the busyness continues

I'm not entirely sure busyness is a word, but it works. Another busy weekend down and a couple more to go.

Thursday after work Q got yet another hair cut. He wasn't in dire need of one, but since I was getting one, I might as well bring him along for a trim too. He does better and better each time. Misty even used the clippers this time, which didn't seem to bother him one bit.

Saturday, we hung around the house for majority of the day. Grandma Nancy came to visit.

Got your nose!

Mommy's sunglasses are always a fun toy.
We had a great time at my cousin Marty's wedding reception Saturday night. Q stole the stage and only wanted to hang out on the dance floor.

This is what pictures of Q and I have come to - Me smiling
Q trying to get away.

Sunday we picked Annette and boys up from the airport. They had a great time on their Disney trip, and from the pictures, you can really tell. We also squeezed in a (too short of a) visit with Bobbie and Dylan, who were passing through on their way home from Iowa City.

Ready Dylan.. I'm going to throw this ball over my head
and you catch it.
After hanging at the Lichtenberger house, we met my parents, sisters, nephews and niece for family pictures. I was dreading it, but I think the pictures turned out pretty good and are Christmas card worthy. After pictures, we headed to my parents house for my favorite brother-in-law's birthday dinner. He wanted sausage and potatoes, so thats what he got.

Beer and Lego's.. what's not to love?
Side note before I head to bed.. 69 days until Christmas!

Fun Foto Friday!

Have I told you lately that my favorite season is fall??

Q turned 15 months on the 2nd, and I realize I'm way behind on the 15 month post, but I wanted to wait until after his doctor appointment, which was Wednesday. So, I'm working on that post. In the mean time, here is a pic I took of him on his actual 15 month birthday.

Photos, photos and more photos....

First off Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband. We celebrated 6 years on Saturday, it feels like our wedding was yesterday. :)

Saturday morning we had our last swim class. Saran and I let the boys take the kiddo's in the water this time. They had fun, even if they won't admit it. But, it also gave Saran and I a chance to take some pictures of the kids actually in the water. Q and Lena loved the class, and while I don't think we'll take the class again, we'll definitely be going swimming more this fall and winter.

Trying to blow bubbles

Quentin liked jumping off the edge.

Blowing more bubbles
We went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant afterwards. We made the mistake of sitting the kids next to each other. They had fun stealing each others food though. The restaurant only had booster seats...which was a total fail.

We relaxed the rest of the day and got rested up for pumpkin patch fun on Sunday.

Daddy and Q playing Angry birds

Hay Maze Fun!
Lena loves touching Q.. which I guess is just paybacks
for when Q wanted to always touch her.
Quentin loved the billy goats and was a little mad when we
wouldn't let him put his hand in the fence to pet them

He quickly got over it when he saw the chickens, which he
kept calling ducks.

We had a ton of fun playing in the corn. I now understand why kids like it so much.  I'm pretty sure there were just as many adults in the corn as there were kids.

Annette, KaVon, and Julian headed to Orlando on Saturday. The boys are very excited. They're doing half their trip on the disney cruise, and the other half on land to visit all the parks. We can't wait for them to get back and tell us all about it.
