We Love Weekends!!

The last couple weekends have been pretty low key. Last Saturday, we hung out at home in the morning and Q took an early nap. We had Stella's birthday party to attend in the afternoon, and I didn't want him to be cranky.

Have I mentioned that Q loves reading?

And playing in his now toy basket.
We headed to Stella's birthday party, where she was as happy as ever. I think I can count on one hand the # of times I've seen her unhappy.

Quentin LOVED the cake.

Stella loved her cake too. She sat and smiled for all the
camera's. I think she could get used to this paparazzi thing.

Early Sunday morning, Jeremy left for Florida. Luckily, he wasn't going to be gone long, but long enough for me to realize this single parent thing, isn't easy. Although, Q did help a ton. He slept in on Sunday morning until almost 9(he did wake at 6 a.m., turned on his music box, and went back to sleep). He also helped with cleaning, which is never ending.

A trip to the park was much deserved after helping clean.

A huge thanks to Dylan (and Bobbie) for the bath color
tablets. We love them!
While Jeremy was gone, I made Q a PB and J sandwich for dinner one night. This was the first time he'd had peanut butter. As I write this, I'm realizing it probably wasn't the smartest idea to be here alone when he ate it. I'm not sure what I would have done, had he had a reaction. Luckily, he didn't, and he LOVED it.

We hung around home this past weekend. Spent a lot of time outside despite the cooler temps. Friday when Q and I got home from work, the neighbor kids attacked my car. It was so cute and we love how much they like playing with Q. So, of course Q played outside with them, until it was bed time.

Who knew sidewalk chalk would be a neighborhood staple.

"winding down"
Q helped me clean. He was so
proud of himself for vacuuming.
Lena and Brian stopped over Saturday afternoon. They are so funny to watch play together. Lena just tries to give Q all the hugs she can squeeze in, but Q wants nothing to do it with it.

going in for a hug.

Lena just decided to tackle Q for this hug.
Q did give in for 1 hug, but only 1.
Kandi and Haley also came over for our 3rd pinterest date. We made bacon wrapped jalapenos, baked mozzarella egg rolls, and a sign.

After

These are actually fried. We tried the baked mozzarella
egg rolls, and they didn't turn out very good. So we
decided to make more only frying them. Obviously,
they were much better.

Our signs for laundry rooms.
Saturday night - Q, once again played outside. It had rained earlier in the day, leaving a nice puddle in the middle of the cul-de-sac.  I'm sure I'm not going to get mother of the year award for this, but I let Q, and 2 of the neighbor kids run, stomp, and play in the puddle. It wasn't very deep at all, and I thought people lived in cul-de-sacs so the kids could play in the street?? :)

Sunday Grandma Nancy came over in the morning. We like when she comes over as it gives me and Jeremy a chance to do things around the house while she occupies Quentin.

the yard is finally getting mowed.
After nap - Quentin got a ride in Hudson's F150.
Hercules update: We're now in our 24th week and doing great. Herky is about the size of a large mango and moving like crazy. I go for my monthly check-up tomorrow and I'm sure all will go well. Next up, is deciding what to paint the bedrooms.

He or She...What Will It Be??

Most of you probably already know if we're having a boy or a girl, but I don't want to spoil the fun for those that don't.

We had a Gender Reveal Party on Saturday. Jeremy and I had the ultrasound on March 26th. We had the ultrasound tech put girl or boy on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. We then took it to the baker, who made cupcakes and put a little filling of either blue or pink in them to reveal the gender. Jeremy and I did not find out until everyone else did.. So it was a little nerve racking, but a lot of fun and I'd do it again.

On Friday night, my mom and dad, along with Haley came over to help prep everything.
Mom putting wrappers on the cake pops

Haley did an amazing job with the fruit kabobs/edible
arrangements. She's for hire if anyone needs something
like this done. :)
Saturday, the big day. The plan was for everyone to arrive at 10, and then we'd immediately eat cupcakes. I originally wanted to make everyone wait, but I couldn't do that to them, or myself.  Jeremy left at 8:30 to pick up the cupcakes. I got a text from him at 9 saying they weren't done yet, and it would be another 20 minutes.. There was a small panic that the cupcakes wouldn't be done in time.. but, he arrived back home with the cupcakes, with time to spare.

The cupcakes!! They're from the Bake Shoppe in Windsor
Heights.
Haley came a little early to prep the Edible Arrangements
and to help with a few other things.

The cake pops!

Finished Product

There was plenty of food - veggie tray, muffins, fruit kabobs
and cheese and crackers.

Andrea the party crasher!! :) Really, I was glad she came.

We decided to let Quentin eat the first cupcake, although I'm not sure how good of an idea that was. Of course he ate the frosting first and it was taking him FOREVER to get to the middle....

.....My patience gave in and I had to
break open the cupcake to find out if
the frosting was pink or blue

Just a few more picture before I show the middle of the cupcake.. :)

I'm not sure if finding out the gender of our baby, or Sarah and Jeremy's twins were more of what people wanted to see. Both seemed to be popular options.

My dad was pretty excited to hold 2 at once.

Q loves babies. He even agreed to hold one, but when
the time came to put the baby in his arms, he wanted
nothing to do with it.
On the invites, we asked everyone to wear pink if they thought girl, and blue if they thought boy. It was fun to see all the pink and blue.
Team Pink!

Team Blue!!
Penny and Fred win best dressed award. They came with
lots of accessories.
Dylan and Jeremy with their popped collars.

I wanted to do a small easter egg hunt with the kids there, but the weather was a little dreary. The rain finally stopped for just a few seconds, so we hurried and made it happen.

One of my favorite pics of Stella!

Q likes to shake them to make sure something is actually
in them.
Quentin gives the best kisses!

Okay.. finally, time for the big reveal..

It's a boy!!!
We couldn't be more excited to have two boys. Quentin still doesn't quite understand what's going on. But, if you ask him if he's going to have a baby brother, he says. "yeah" and shakes his head.

We are due August 18th and we haven't even thought about names yet. For now, we are calling baby # 2, Hercules.. or Herky for short.

A huge thanks to everyone that came. We hope you had as much fun with this as we did (although a little torturous to have to wait to find out). A special thanks to Haley, Bobbie and my mom for all their help. We couldn't have done this without them.
