Pictures Pages..

Anyone remember the show Picture Pages with Bill Cosby? For some reason when I was trying to come up with a title for this post, that came to mind. Probably because of all the pictures. And, I actually thought it was called Picture Time. Jeremy was kind enough to correct me. :)

Q has been quite the cranky pants the last couple days. More so today than yesterday. He's also been very clingy, and only wanting me. So I'm thinking he may have either have an ear ache, a cold, or could be cutting more teeth. He's not running a fever, and is not too bad. Just not quite his super happy self.

Despite Q not feeling well, we still had an eventful weekend. We started off the weekend on Saturday. Q and I walked to Panera Bread. I had no idea it was suppose to rain, and was a little sunny when we left the house. We did get sprinkled on, but managed to make it home before the down pour.

Q at Panera, not wanting to be in the high chair.
Bobbie and Dylan are in town.. HOORAY!!! Saturday night, we went to the Lichtenberger house to hang out. It's always fun seeing Herb, Vera, Bobbie and Dylan. And Sarah too, who also joined in on the fun. :) Special thanks to Herb and Vera for dinner.

Dylan gave Q this pig for his birthday. It comes with coins
and there is a slot in the top that you put them in. It oinks
and counts as you put the coins in. Q loved it and after
Dylan showed him how it works, he caught on very quick.

2 of the cutest boys EVER!!

Dylan showed me how to play Angry Birds.

Who needs toys when you have measuring
cups. Q quickly snagged them out of the
drawer when I turned my head.
This chair had been out of sight for awhile. It came back
to us the other day (thanks Kristy) and Q found a new way to play
with it. He stands on it and rocks it.

This is what happens when you don't follow the directions.

So then he went to rocking it the right way, only still
standing.
On Sunday afternoon we had Dianna's bridal shower. It's hard to believe September is right around the corner. Which means, so is football season! :)  It was fun to see everyone and catch up. It was also fun to finally meet some of Eric's family. And the 2nd cousins had fun playing with each other.
Gia and Q reading a book.

I think they were playing musical chairs.. not sure,
but Q loved it, and loved watching Zoey.

Gia's face in this picture cracks me up.

Dianna with the quilt my mom made her.
It's the wedding pattern, which is the same
pattern she made me for my wedding.

Aunt Helen, Aunt Lou and Aunt Carol wanted a picture with
all the kids that were at the shower. I don't think they realized
what they were in for. Gia was screaming, which woke up
Nolan. Q just wanted down and Zoey wasn't sure what to think
or do. Needless to say, I'm not sure any of us got a good picture

Me and my Q - Man!!

This is Mara - the Flower girl - She was so cute and was
giving Q kisses through the window.
Time to watch Big Brother and head to bed. For those of you who are also watching BB - I'm rooting for Jeff and Jordan. I'd like to see a newbie win but I just don't like any of them.

Hot, Hot, Hot..

We've been having quite the heat wave this week and last. Heat index reaching as high as 115 degrees. Needless to say, we haven't left the house much.

Q and I did leave the house on Saturday to meet up with Saran and Lena and play in the play area at Jordan Creek Mall. Brian and Jeremy were crazy enough to golf 18 (which took them an hour longer than usual). Q absolutely LOVED the play area. I had no idea that I would work up a sweat just trying to keep up with him. Lena was a little hesitant, but I'm sure will be loving it the next time.

Face off!!

Q had no fear of going down the slide face first

Lena was trying to get his attention for the
picture.. Q obviously didn't care.

I also managed to get an earring stuck in the stroller tire. Thankfully Scheels has a bike service area (who knew) and called in an emergency to fix it. $11 and 5 minutes later, we were back in business.

Sunday we left the house to make a few deliveries. We had to drop off Q's jumper thing to Tre and Carrie for Stella, and then to Great Aunt Penny and Great Uncle Freds to drop off stuff for Q as he would be spending Monday at their house for Cousins Camp (more to come on that later)

Q checking out Stella. I think he's jealous of
her hair.

Bustin' a Move..

Q has been dancing for a couple weeks now and I finally got it on video. It's super cute. I apologize in advance for the length, but I didn't have time to cut it down.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

It's been a busy last few days, and I've actually been going to bed shortly after Q does. So, here is a recap of this past weekend.

Saturday morning we headed to the Ankeny Summerfest Parade. It was Q's first parade, and he loved it.

My favorite float - Angry birds!

Q was excited for something. I don't remember what it was,
but I'm sure it was the Hawkeye Bus.

The rest of Saturday we hung around at home. Q enjoyed playing with all his toys...and Daddy

On Sunday, Grandma Nancy stopped by for a little bit. She showed Q a new ride, which he wasn't sure about at first, but by the 2nd time around he was a fan.

Late Sunday afternoon, we headed to my parents house to celebrate Annette's birthday and her accomplishment of getting her 2 year business degree. We are very proud of her know it wasn't easy to find the time to get anything done with 2 kids in sports. In true Annette form - I didn't get any pictures of her.

We had pasta for dinner, which required a impromptu bath
for Q. he had it EVERYWHERE!!

Sunday night we headed back to Ankeny Summerfest for fireworks. Q took a short little nap and then was up until 10:30. He was completely exhausted, but loved the fireworks.

All done - Time for BED!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday.  Last year on this day we were heading home from the hospital. It's crazy to think, this was actually Quentin's 2nd Independence day and he still has not seen fireworks. That will change next weekend when Ankeny's Summerfest is going on.

A special Happy Birthday to my dad. I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated.
One of my favorite pics.
We headed to my cousin Kristy's house for majority of the day Sunday. It was great to see the family and finally meet little Olive, who is adorable. Q was exhausted, as were Jeremy and I, so we didn't stay for fireworks.

Q kept pointing to the basketball hoops
so Jeremy lifted him up. He loved it and
wanted to do it more.

An attempt to get a picture of all the 1st cousins.
Getting a pic of all the 2nd cousins was actually easier.
Q loved playing on the stairs.
Poor Frodo had been home the last 2 days alone, with no one to lick. So today, we decided to hang out at home. We played with all of Q's new toys, read books and caught up on some r and r.

Happy Birthday Quentin!!!

A year has gone by (more like flown). We can't believe how Quentin's grown. We are so very proud of our little man and can't wait to see what's in store for him this next year.

Quentin's top 10 at 12 - in no particular order.
10. Loves blowing kisses
9. Does the bear walk/crawl really well. He will stand for a couple seconds and then go boom.
8. Is left handed dominate when eating and mostly right handed for everything else.
7. Pays very close attention to our mouths when we talk. He has said duck a couple times. And dog several times. Of course Mamma, Dada and uh oh are his favorite words.
6. Is responding to simple requests like "where's the duck" And will bring it to me, but usually takes it to Frodo.
5. Has a very light birthmark on his right leg, which happens to be the exact same spot mine is at.
4. Continues to love teasing Frodo with his toys.
3. Has 4 teeth that have poked through on top and more starting to come.
2. Is not a fan of milk. (definitely my child)
1. Continues to be such a happy boy, and as we were told yesterday, he's abnormally cute.

We have his 12 month check up on Tuesday and I'm excited to see how much he weighs and how tall he is.  According our scale (which he likes playing on) he's about 20 pounds. Not so excited for the shots.

Q has been sleeping very well, going to bed around 7 and sleeping until 5:30-6. Of course there are rare occasions he gets up at 2a.m. but I don't foresee those coming to an end until he stops getting teeth. And now that he's getting good sleep, I asked my friend Bobbie, when will I start to get good sleep again, and she assures me it will happen soon. My co-workers who are my mother's age, on the other hand, say I won't get good sleep until Q is off to college.

We started off his birthday with both of us getting haircuts. I had an appointment to get mine cut, and my hair lady was nice enough to cut Q's too. He sat in my lap and it took both Jeremy and I to hold him down. So no pictures of the during. But, finally the mullet is gone.

He wasn't sure what to think of the cupcake at first.
It didn't take him long though.

Lena is even cute when she's crying
Aunt Nanna helping Q open his gifts

Grandpa helping Q with the plasma car

Q loves doing puzzles, although the pieces never get to
the right spot.

KaVono is such a good cousin. He loves reading to Q. Of
course Q loves it too.
While we ate pizza for dinner, Q scarfed down pasta.
Q received some awesome toys, books and clothes. Thank you so much to everyone! Saturday night Jeremy put together all of the new toys after Q went to bed. He was so excited Sunday morning to see all of them. He wasn't sure what to play with first and just kind of sat there looking around until finally digging in and playing with all of them at once.
