March...

I started out the month going to an Iowa basketball game with my friend/coworker Haley. They played Indiana. It was a weeknight and driving there and back wasn't terrible, but not something I'd want to do regularly either. Even though they lost, it was still a good game and a lot of fun. And we had pretty good seats.

Quentin played a lot of basketball this month. He really enjoyed playing scrimmages. Cameron liked watching. Ben just wanted to play with a ball.

He shoots.. and scores!

This was Quentin Friend Jamison. He was born the same
day as Quentin, and I went to school and played softball
with his mom.
Happy St. Patricks Day - I skipped work and headed to watch some March Madness downtown.

Happy Birthday, KaVon - We headed to my parents for his birthday dinner. I can't remember what he chose for his dinner and I have no pictures of KaVon. But, I did get a picture of Dianna playing with a guitar, that I think is Julians.

Happy Easter - Easter seemed way early this year. Gaging from the pictures though, it doesn't seem weather was too bad. We went to the Easter Egg hunt here in town. I love that it's not too crazy with people and they split the age groups up so the little kids don't get toppled by the older ones. And, they have other things besides candy.. like animal crackers and gold fish crackers

Ben was not having the Easter Bunny
We died eggs with shaving cream. It was a bit messy but at least they smelled good.

I decided to do one big basket instead of individual baskets for the kids. It worked out much better, and I can actually use the basket for something else. It's nothing really exciting. I tried to steer clear of candy. They each got a book, a pair of shoes and some other little things. I think the shoes will become a tradition. A mystery person (Grandma Nancy)also dropped by baskets for each of them. They love the swords.

We went to my parents for Easter dinner. And of course another Easter Egg hunt. Mom actually puts money in her eggs though. Some had half dollars, silver dollars and a few $2 bills.

Deep talk with GG

We ended the month at the Iowa Energy Game. KaVon won Youth of the Year at the state level. He competed in April for the midwest region and goes in July for the regional level. Here is a link to the story Channel 13 news did. http://whotv.com/2016/05/05/boys-and-girls-club-a-savior-for-thousands-of-metro-youth/

KaVon has gotten to do a lot of things since winning this award. One being bring out the game ball at an Iowa Energy game.

Ben cried every time he saw this guy.

It also happened to be Super Hero night. Cam and Quentin were equipped with their capes. They were also giving out capes as you walked in. Quentin didn't want to get in on the picture. Cameron talked to all the characters like he knew them. They tried to get him to pose, but I think he was too star struck.

Other pictures from the month..

Ben is practicing using a spoon.

Sometimes yogurt turns into paint.

It's cool to just wear pajama bottoms these days.

Remember those canvas prints from the last post - They're finally hung.

Last but not least, our most recent family picture.. at this point anyway.
