Longest Overdue Post!!!

The last few weeks have flown by. We've gone from snow to 95 degree and everything in between. I think spring is finally here to stay, although we've had a lot of summer like days.

We started Water babies a few weekends ago. Both Cameron and Quentin LOVE it! Both boys go at the same time, Jeremy and I both have to be in the water with them. It works out pretty well. Thanks to Carrie for taking a few pictures the first week. They may be the only ones we get.

We've been hanging around the house a lot. Cameron is on the move and goes EVERYWHERE. He turned 9 months on the 15th and I can't believe how fast it's gone by. More about that a little later.

Cameron's favorite spot is the dog dishes.

..and trying to suck the water out.

Quentin got new shoes. He wanted to sleep with them on.

Not so sure about cottage cheese.

Jeremy scored this slot car race track at
a garage sale. He was pretty excited
about it. It even has track for the
cars to go upside down.

Quentin has been practicing riding his big boy bike in the basement all winter long, and on rainy days. He wanted to ride it the other day, so we finally brought it out. He loves it and rides it all the time.

Happy Mothers Day! We had a pretty uneventful day. We went to Hy-Vee for breakfast and to pick up a few groceries. My mom and dad stopped over in the morning and then Nancy came over for lunch. Jeremy made us steaks on the grill and they were very good!

A couple weeks ago Cameron started Amoxicillin for his ear infection. He had a reaction to it and broke out in hives. Hives EVERYWHERE!! Thankfully they didn't seem to bother him. It did take a good 3-4 days for them to go away.

Quentin goes to the dentist! He did great. They had a ton of stuff for him to play with before we got called in.

The hygienist was super nice and took a lot of time explaining each tool to Quentin and letting him feel them. Then she let him pick out a toothbrush. And, he got stickers for every time he was brave. He ended up with 5 stickers.

He was a little unsure of the teeth cleaning.
There is a pond outside the dentists office, and some baby geese. The adult geese were pretty aggressive and seemed a little angry we didn't have any food for them. Needless to say, we didn't stay long.

We picked up some vegetables to plant on the way home. Quentin wanted to pull them out instead of putting them in, so he didn't help much with the planting. He loves to water them though. We planted tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.

Both boys got haircuts last week. Quentin doesn't think anything of them anymore. He knows the routine. He also knows, he gets a sucker after he's done and will not let you forget it. Cameron sat on my lap and wanted to keep looking around to see the scissors, comb and everyone else.

All done!

We frequent the park by our house often. Cameron loves the swings and there isn't anything Quentin doesn't like about it.

Cameron fell asleep about 1 min in on
the walk home.

Saturday, after waterbabies, we met up with Carrie and Stella for the farmers market. It was the police station open house as well, so lots of emergency vehicles were there, along with some public works vehicles. Quentin loved them all. His favorite, of course, was the recycling truck.

Quentin loves buses.
McGruff the crime dog also made an appearance
handing out stickers

Last Thursday, Jeremy and I went on a bike ride. There is a trail about 3 miles from our house. The trail actually can go all the way to Baxter, but we turned around at Mingo. It ended up being about 30 miles. Not too bad for my 2nd bike ride, Jeremy's first. Huge thanks to Grandma Nancy watching the kiddo's while we were gone.

This stroller/trailer thing has come in handy. Quentin loves to ride in it. Jeremy likes to pull him in it.. so it's a win win. The neighbor kids all fight for turns as well. I kind of wish they made one for adults.

Happy 9 months Cameron - We had Cameron's 9 month appointment today. It also served as a follow up appointment from his amoxicillin reaction as well. He's doing great and growing like a weed. No shots this time, but he did get his finger poked to check for lead and his hemoglobin.

At 9 Months:

- Weighs 20.8 #'s (64%), 28.5 in tall (54%) and his head was 17.25 (16%).
- Is crawling EVERYWHERE.
- Pulls himself up on things, but can't quite get his feet under him.
- Talks all the time
- Loves to blow raspberries and make other funny noises. Also watches our mouths very closely when we're talking to him and will try to make his mouth move the same way.
- He loves to eat! He eats about 4 6 ounce bottles a day and has 1 jar of food in the morning, noon and night. We've started giving him some table food. He's hesitant of it at first, but eventually digs right in. His favorite is puffs. He loves water and drinks from a sippy cup.
- Claps and gives fives. We're working on waving.
- Quentin is trying to teach him the sign for "more."
- Loves going upside down
- Ticklish EVERYWHERE. Jeremy can tickle him good and really get him laughing.
- Has had 2 haircuts already.
- His eyes are still blue, but have a brown ring around them, and have been that way for a few weeks now. The dr even made a comment about them today, and was surprised they hadn't completely changed. His partially blocked tear duct is improving. We were going to be referred if it hadn't improved, but it did, so now we are going to watch it until his 1 year check up.
- Loves the water and bath time.
- Sleeps great. Goes to bed between 6:30-7 and wakes up at 6-6:15. He'll often play and talk in his crib while he waits for us to get him.
- Continues to be such a happy kid.

Cameron went to town on some taco meat tonight.

Lastly - Quentin is potty trained!! He really good about telling us when he needs to go and has actually gone without even telling us. He does still wear a diaper at night still but only because I can't tell him no, when he asks for water.
