December 2017

We started the month of December off at the Altoona Campus, where the boys play basketball. Ben is getting the hang of it. But I'll admit, he's probably a year too early for this team thing.

We headed to Bass Pro shot to visit Santa. We always go on a week night to avoid the long wait. So we went on a Monday and apparently, thats still a busy night. We got there at 5:30, and didn't get to see Santa until almost 8. They give you a time card to know when you can line up to see him. Our card said 7:30. We could have left, but we'd already eaten, it was pretty cold, so we found things to do at the store.

Finally - Our picture with Santa. Cam said something which santa laughed at and could hardly stop to get the picture taken. One of the guys working said he's never heard Santa laugh like that before. I actually had to pull the boys away from Santa as he just kept talking to them. They all loved him. Quentin was sad we forgot his letter to mail to him.

Speaking of letters - Quentin wrote about 10 to Santa. I like that he put the dates on them. :) He also helped Cam and Ben write theirs.

He chose 1 to mail - The post office has a box for letters to Santa. We addressed them to the North Pole. A couple days later, the elves wrote each of the kids back. All their letters said the same thing. haha. still exciting none the less.

Ben came to work with me.. Nancy was sick one morning and I was bringing breakfast for everyone. I had all the stuff, so I couldn't exactly not go to work that day. So I figured I'd take Ben to drop off the stuff with me, then we'd head back home. We were also decorating stockings that day so it wasn't a high producing day. Everyone loved Ben so much, we didn't end up leaving until 11am. He's still talking about going to my desk and wants to go back.

Ben took my phone to take pictures.
The boys always get to open one present before Christmas, and it's always a movie and pajama's. They haven't caught on that it's always the same thing though. 😉 I used to let them open them on Christmas eve, but I decided that they should get to wear them all month and not just for Christmas morning.

It's getting harder to find pj's that match in the different sizes that we need. I had to go to the boys section and Ben's and Cam's are too big, but nothing a waist roll or 2 can't fix.

Happy Birthday, Jeremy! We went to Mom and Dads a few weeks ago for his birthday dinner - Roast beef sandwiches, They were SO good! apparently, I took no pictures from that.

Merry Christmas! We spent Saturday at Mom and Dads house for our Christmas. Brunch was at 10 and we had muffins, 3 different egg casseroles, cinnamon rolls, milk and coffee.  For our gift exchange this year, we drew a person and a store. We left off the amount and just left it at no more than $20-$25. For dinner we had prime rib and ham along with homemade rolls. Yum!

I had to buy for Eric at Target- what else is there besides Beer?

We moved onto a Ginger bread house decorating contest, which I think we should do every year. Grandma was the judge.

Grandma deemed Dianna's the winner because it had the uniqueness of a snowman. but, she also liked Annettes because it has the walkway for older people and KaVon's because he used a pretzel for a chimney and she thought that was pretty unique too.

Christmas Eve with Nancy, Emily, Ricky, Gabe and Victory - As usual - Nancy overdid it and bought too much. :) The kids love it though. Ben quit opening presents pretty much after the first one. and just wanted to play with the puzzle. :) Victory tried to eat all his presents.

I made cookies for Santa Clause and we got in our jimmies and watched a movie. The kids went right to sleep.

I always buy the kids a set of new sheets. Quentin got Mincraft, Ben got batman and Cam got star wars. It's one of their favorite gifts every year.  The boys always like the clothes they get too.

I got Jeremy a hand crafted cribbage board, so we had to play a game. :) He got me an Amazon Echo, which I love and play music with it all the time. The kids also love it and have Alexa tell jokes and stories and I've heard all kinds of songs I didn't know existed because they don't know the names of them and Alexa just plays what she thinks they're trying to say.

Other pictures from the month...

Some video's as well.
