HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON!!!

On August 15th at 3:55p.m., we welcomed Cameron Scott. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long. He cried immediately, which was music to my ears.

Delivery went exactly as planned and we are all home doing great. Big Brother Quentin loves his brother and is already using him to prolong naps and bed time.

On with the pictures....

Getting ready to come home

Frodo is handling everything very well.

Q likes to help put the binky in C's mouth...

..and rock him

comparing feet

night night kisses = Q delaying bedtime.

Cameron's first bath at home

Q asks to hold baby Cameron on occasion.

And he always wants to play with him.

Special thanks to all who have visited, brought us food and gifts. It means a lot to Jeremy and I, and we are so grateful to be surrounded by such great family and friends.

Still to come - Jeremy and Q go to the fair.

Weekend Recap!!

We stuck close to home this past weekend. And, we always have an entertaining time (as you'll see in the pictures) in our neighborhood, so it works out well.

Surprise Surprise, Q still loves reading.
The fun begins. One of the neighbor girls, Avery, wanted to do a science experiment. I'm such a sucker, but it sounded fun. And, conveniently, I had all the supplies.
Adding food coloring to half jar of vinegar.

Now the soap

Stir it up a little

Add some baking soda

and you have a foaming jar of fun.
It was so much fun, they wanted to do it again. One of the other neighbor moms said we didn't need to use soap, and, I'm wondering if it would work better without it. So, I think we'll be doing it again soon.

We took Q to Bass Pro Shop over the weekend. He loved all the "BIG BIG tractors" and life like animals they have hanging around. He was very vocal about it as well, with lots of loud "woah" and "WOW"

On Sunday, I had promised Q that I would take him to the park. And, if I'm going to take him, might as well take the neighbor kids too. Morgan, Hudson and Afton came along with us. They were great listeners and didn't complain when it was time to go.

Q is starting to get the hang of this thing, but got very scared
when he heard a voice answer him from the other side.

We already miss the olympics around here. Just this morning, Q got up on the couch and asked to watch them. Never did I think I'd need to DVR them.
Eating popcorn while watching the closing ceremony.
Now for the Herky update - I had my doctors appointment on Monday and am being induced tomorrow morning. I'm very excited to meet our newest addition. Based on my heartburn, he should have a ton of hair. I'm a little nervous with how jealous Q will be as he cried when I picked up the neighbors baby earlier tonight. I'm sure and hopeful it won't last long though.

Does the Fun Ever End?

The last couple of weekends have been pretty low key. With Q being 3 weeks early, I had hopes of going early with Herky as well. I guess he has other plans as we haven't met him yet. So, here's a recap of the last couple weeks. There is a Herky update at the bottom.

These are the lights Jeremy added a few weeks ago - We love them and
Jeremy has gotten lots of compliments on them.
We've had this storm door in our garage for nearly 2 months now. Jeremy installed it over the weekend. It looks great and the house feels so much more open.
FINALLY!!! The storm door is installed
We are loving the Olympics around here! Our TV has been on more this past week, than it has the past month. Quentin often will stop playing to see whats going on. His favorite is the swimming and the "big big pool." And, he says he wants to jump in the pool.

"Mom - Can you please stop taking my picture. I'm trying
to watch the Olympics!"
Last Saturday night, I had made cupcakes and some of the neighbor kids came over to help decorate them. Of course, they had to eat some as well.  We took them to the neighbors, who had invited us over for an olympic party in their garage.

This decorating stuff is serious business
Last Sunday morning, Carrie, Stella, Bobbie, Dylan, Brian, Lena, Sarah and the boys came over for a playdate. We tried finger painting for the first time. I think Brian had the best idea, that the adults should get to finger paint sometime as well.

D led the way and showed the others how it's done.

High Fives!

After finger painting, we got cleaned up and headed to the park.

Jackson and Wyatt ate and hung out

They liked playing a game until they hit heads.

Hooray!! USA wins Synchronized diving.
Last Monday - Q got to spend the day at Cousins Camp with Alex and Paul. They went to the library, the capital and rode the trolly. Jeremy and I went over after work and Q was having a blast in the backyard.

A little swimming with Alex

Our little artist

A little basketball

Who doesn't have a ping pong table in their backyard?

Alex finally got Q to ride the big wheel.

He has a good stance, but, may be a better golfer

Last year Q hated the swing, this year, he loves it.

Huge thanks to Penny and Fred for inviting Quentin again this year and for dinner. And to Nancy for tagging along as well. I know it made Q and me feel better that he'd be with a familiar face.

Here are a few pictures from this past weekend.  Q won't really watch cartoons.. He'd rather play with the ipad or watch espn. He's definitely my kid. And, he counted to 4 on Saturday, which was a little shocking to me as I didn't know he could count past 2.. and then Sunday, he up'd it to 5.

If you're happy and you know it, stomp your feet!

Clap your hands!

Shout Hooray!

Obviously Q loves the ipad.
Saturday afternoon, Stella came to hang out while Carrie got her hair cut. She came during Q's nap time, and Stella actually slept on me most of the time as well. Maybe having 2 kids won't be so bad after-all. :)

He loves corn on the cob. Ate 2 ears.
Herky update: I went to the doctor today, and am dilated 2 cm and 90% effaced. Of course, this really doesn't mean a whole lot, just that I can go any day now. He's still moving a lot, which I love and I'm told kankles are the new "in" thing.
