Fun Foto Friday - Thursday Style

Between everything going on, reading Fifty Shades of Grey, having house guests and just life in general, I haven't made time to update the blog.. But, I've reached the end of book 2, so thought I should take a break to get caught up before the weekend.

Last Tuesday was 'wear your favorite baseball team' day at daycare. Q only has a Cubs shirt, so of course thats what he wore.

The ice cream truck came around on Wednesday night. The neighbor moms think he comes on Wednesdays and Sundays, weather permitting. He has music that plays and everything. I didn't really think they still existed. Of course all ice cream and popsicles were pre-packaged, and the guy didn't seem all that creepy. Q got a popsicle, that he tried to write on the sidewalk with, as it was called something like color ice.

All the kids gathered to pick out what they wanted.
Jeremy gave me an iPad for mothers day. But, I'm not sure who uses it more? Quentin loves it and has more apps on it than I do.

On Saturday, we met Carrie and Stella at the Farmers Market.

Taking a break to eat a snack - cookies and mini blueberry muffins

The zoo was there showing off a turtle.

Q rode the train for the first time. I thought he'd be a little
scared, instead he didn't want to get off.

The horse patrol were out and about.
Once Q saw Stella next to the horse, he
agreed to pet one too.
Our house guests also moved in this past weekend. Lena, Sammy and Brian are staying with us for a couple weeks. Frodo especially loves the playmate, I'm not so sure Sammy feels the same way.

We finally brought the little 4-wheeler my co-worker gave us
out of the basement. Q took it for a spin tonight and does
pretty well.

Although, he did give up, and daddy had to carry it home. :)

We finally got a tree planted in our backyard. Seems like
we've been watering it a ton, which Q likes to watch and
occasionally feel the water.

Lena continues to love giving Q hugs.

This hug was so big....

....It knocked Q over. :)

bath time - Q chose blue today, much like every bath day.

I had a doctors appointment on Monday - Herky's heartbeat was 145 and he's doing great, as am I. I had the dreaded glucose test and was very excited to hear my blood sugar was 102, and I wouldn't have to take the 3 hour.

Happy Mothers Day!!

What a busy weekend - Friday and Saturday, we had the garage sale. I was amazed at how many people a city wide sale draws. Even more amazed at the full vehicles we saw. Some people even tow a trailer. Needless to say, we are left with little stuff, all of which I was okay if it didn't sell. Huge thanks to my mom, Annette and my cousin Kristy for all their help.

Stella and Carrie stopped by on Saturday afternoon. Q had a fun time playing with Stella before his nap. Stella is getting so vocal and really good at the walking thing.

Saturday night - Jeremy gave me my mothers day present. He's usually pretty good at waiting to give gifts, but he was pretty excited about this one. He and Quentin got me an iPad 3.. of course, I'm pretty stoked, and have been playing with it non-stop. Q also really likes it.

Sunday was another busy day. We rushed to put the final touches on the mothers day gifts we had for our mom's. We got them done with time to spare and both grandma's loved them. - Pictures below, although I forgot to take one of the final product.

Q decided to ride to daddy to finish his project

Jeremy helped Q put his hand print on the bird houses.
They also put a Q on the other side and the year.

Q avoiding getting dressed - and playing with the iPad

We finally got Q dressed before Grandma Nancy arrived...

..we played in the back yard...

..and at the park.
After Q's nap - we headed to my parents house for dinner. Quentin enjoyed teasing and chasing Stanzi (Dianna's dog).

I couldn't have asked for a better Mothers Day/weekend - Both company wise, and weather wise - It was perfect!

Quick Update...

I'm home with Q today as he's been sick since Friday. Jeremy stayed home with him on Friday and took him to the doctor, to which we were told he either has strep throat or hand, foot and mouth disease. Needless to say, it's been a rough couple of days.  He's finally feeling MUCH better today, and actually eating a little here and there.

Having the downtime with him has forced me to get more prepared for the garage sale we're having this weekend. It's Bondurant's city wide sale, and since we have boxes we haven't even unpacked - we figured we could get rid of what's in them. So, when Q isn't being needy, I've been pricing stuff and taking it out to the garage.

In other news - Quentin turned 22 months old last week. I still am in awe of how fast that time went by. It dawned on me that he will be turning 2 years old in just 2 months.. and then only a little more than a month after that, he'll be a big brother. As of right now, he says he wants a big brother and knows where the baby is. I'm not sure he quite understands what that all means though. And, I'm sure he won't until it all actually happens. We'll all be in for a big treat!

Speaking of little brother - We've reached the 25 week milestone with Herky ( I know I said 24 weeks a couple weeks ago - I lied, it was only 23 then). Herky is now supposedly the size of an average rutabaga (I'm not even sure I know what that is, but assuming it's something you eat?) and weighs roughly 1.5 pounds. I have to do the glucose test next time I goto the doctor and praying I pass this one, as I REALLY don't want to do the 3 hour again. He's moving a ton, and doing great.

Back to Q turning 22 months -

We're constantly amazed at the things he says and does. And, we're constantly asking ourselves, "Where did he learn that?" Some of Q's favorite things to say are.. "Color?,  Outside?,  What's that?,  I see it! (which sounds like I shit), and Happy? (as he hands you a color to draw a happy face with. He's getting really good at dribbling balls, which of course, are still one of his favorite toys.

On with some pictures ---

I was shocked he even wanted to attempt this, and he made
it to the top numerous times.

Having a may day basket snack.

Q loves helping.

He's actually saying "cheese"

I can run so fast!

Quentin absolutely LOVES playing outside. He loves it
even more when the neighbor kids are out.

big belly - he ate a lot of pineapple-
one of his favorite foods.

dribble, dribble.
This past weekend, I didn't get to take many pictures, but I did get a couple, mostly from today -

Q loves listening to the books on my
phone.

And vacuuming.

Downward dog, plank or push-up - You decide.
Today he is helping go through some totes -

He's bringing me each ring as I ask for them by color.

Tote is empty - down the stairs it goes.
Happy Birthday Aunt Nana. She's the big 3-0 today. We were so bummed we missed her birthday dinner last night, so, we'll have to give her spankings some other time.

She's apparently really good at avoiding
the camera, as this appears to be the most
recent picture I have of her.

Here we go...

This past weekend, we headed back to KC to visit Bobbie and Dylan. We also signed up to walk the Trolley Run on Sunday - one of the country's largest 4 mile race. Bobbie is such a great host and we always feel welcomed and like at home when we visit.  It also helps that she has no shortage of sidewalk chalk and toys.

We played with Bubbles - D loved waving the wand and
watching Q chase the bubbles.

We shot baskets!

We played with puzzles...

We ate

Played some more...

Q was terrified of this tunnel last time we were there. But,
after seeing a few of the kids go through it, he gave it a shot
and loved it.

He drove the F150...

Rode the plasma car.

Played with all the toys inside...

Dylan received a football that throws bubbles out of it
when you throw it.. so, we had to check that out. It was
actually pretty cool and I was amazed at how well it worked.

We mowed the lawn..

..and went down the slide, several times.

On Sunday - we did the Trolley Run. Despite the little rain and it being a little chilly, all the kiddo's did great, as did the adults. A HUGE thanks to Beth for providing mini blueberry muffins. They were a huge hit with the kids. I'm pretty sure Q ate at least 5.  We're already looking forward to next years race.

A huge thanks to my parents for once again, watching Frodo while we were gone. I'm pretty sure he'd die if we had to put him in a kennel.
