Q did a toy study - Our neighbor referred us to something.. I can't think of what it's called.. but they called us when they had a study to be done for his age range. It consisted of him looking at pictures of toys and picking one that he'd like to play with. Then, there were a few commercials with those toys in them. Then, they went through the toy pictures again, and he again, picked which ones he'd like to play with. It was interesting to see how his decisions changes after watching the commercials. It was quick and easy. The best part was he walked away with a toy valued at $20, and I got $10. Can't beat that for less than a half hour worth of our time.
The toy he got was a matchbox thing you attach to the wall.. it's actually pretty cool.
Breakfast with Santa!! Every year at the Legion hall in town, they have a breakfast and Santa is there. Quentin didn't hesitate to sit on Santa's lap.. but Cam wanted nothing to do him and cried at the thought of even going near him. Ben didn't seem to mind. We'll see if that changes next year. They take pictures for you, and print them right there, which is awesome... however, they're the worst pictures ever. It doesn't help I took pictures of pictures though either.
We had a little playdate christmas party for some of our friends, and their kids. We exchanged names for gifts, and had a little pot luck. It was a ton of fun, and all the kids did great. It's always so fun to watch them play together.
Of course, we did the Lowes Build and Grow thing.. Stella and Carrie joined us. The kids made a train.. It even lights up.
Ben and Cameron had their Christmas program for daycare.. It was super cute and I love that daycare does this. Cam was a little tough to get a good picture of.. He didn't want to sit still.. or even in the same area... He even tried walking off stage a few times. It probably doesn't help that pretty much the entire audience is laughing at them.. but, it's so cute, and the kids are really funny to watch.
Jeremy's Birthday was on the 17th - I picked Quentin up from pre-school that day, and he said he wanted to get daddy some "important legos." So, we quickly ran to Target and got some legos that are too big for Quentin to play with. Nancy and Emily joined us for dinner, cake and ice cream.
Ben finally had his 6 month appointment also the 17th. He weighed in at 18.8 pounds (59%), 27.5 tall (72%) and his head circumference is 17 (32%). So, he's doing good and pretty average. He's rolling over everywhere, loves to play with his toes, blow raspberries, and look at himself in the mirror. He can sit up pretty well unassisted and grabs at toys around him. Jeremy was the lucky one to take him to his appointment and deal with the shots. I, however, got to take the other 2 to the dentist the following day.
Quentin did GREAT at the dentist. They even took his picture for their Facebook page. He let them take X-rays of his teeth and gums. Cameron was another story. It took a 2 nurses and myself to hold him down just to clean his teeth.. and then it took the dentist, 2 nurses and myself to hold him down just for the dentist to look at his teeth. So now Jeremy and I look at his teeth and feel around, and hopefully this will help for next time. He'll also be a little older and understand a little more. Needless to say, I only got pre- dentist pictures. ha!
They each got to pick out a few stickers.. and this is how they chose to use them.
Bobbie and Dylan came to visit - They got in late Christmas Eve, Eve. We finally got all the boys settled down and put to sleep. D and Q slept on the floor.. it worked out perfectly.. although they were up very early.
After the kids played a little in the morning and we visited with Sarah awhile, we decided to head to Bass Pro for a little bowling and lunch. It was a ton of fun.. and both D and Q did great...although Q did cross the foul line a few times.. and threw the ball into the gutter, and got the ball stuck in the guard rail.
Bobbie and I are always a little competitive.. Neither of us had bowled in a very long time. I won the first game.. and our time ran out during the 2nd game.. Good thing as Bobbie was on a strike streak.. I would have brutally lost. ha! Although I was kind of bummed as I wanted to see how many she really could do in a row. She was at 5 straight when we had to quit.
We walked around Bass Pro for a bit to play with the other things they had going on. Fortunately, it wasn't crazy busy like I thought it would be.
That night, we got all ready for Santa. Q put out some cookies, sprinkled his reindeer food all over the front yard, and all boys were fast asleep.
Last year we started the tradition of opening pajamas on Christmas Eve and a book. Quentin loved them.. Cam could have cared less. and Ben didn't have a clue what just happened. But, they all looked cute before bed. :)
We got elfed.. twice!
Q was very nice and helped Ben open his present.
Stella is in a "don't take my pic" phase. ha!

Cam put all the buckets on and off the table.. It kept him busy for a while.

After the kids went to bed, Jeremy and I got busy. I'm such a procrastinator, I had to wrap pretty much every present we had. Jeremy lucked out and only had to put 1 thing together.. and that was the balance bike for Cam.
Santa came!
Jeremy was so afraid of the kids getting up and he'd miss their reaction. At 4a.m, he heard one of the kids stirring on the monitor, and shot up and hit me, to wake me up and run out there.. after a couple minutes, I told him to wake me up when the kids get up.. and went back to sleep.
This is how getting a pic of all 3 usually goes.
I don't think Cam understood what happened when he got up.. but, he didn't really care either. He saw toys, and just wanted to play.
After the kids opened all the presents from Jeremy and I..and Santa.. I made French toast and we waited for Nancy and Aunt Emily to come over.
Cam could have cared less about presents. the paper was enough for him. He was rolling and jumping in it like it were leaves.
We hung out the rest of the morning.. The kids took early naps. and we headed to mom and dads that afternoon for prime rib.
The following Saturday, we headed back to mom and dads for the Mohler family Christmas.
Other random pics from the month..
We got elfed.. twice!
Thats all for now.. I'm pretty much considering myself caught up.
