It's very hard for me to believe Quentin is actually a 3 year old. I looked back through some pictures from 2-3, and it's amazing how much he's grown, in all aspects. He's gone from being an only child, to a sibling, a crib to a big boy bed, from diapers to the potty, and we avoided the ER for yet, another year. We are often Mom and Dad, and occasionally JoAnne and Jeremy.
I did a short interview with Quentin on his birthday, and plan to do it yearly. It was really cute, and I'm excited to see how his answers change over the years. Of course the questions will change too.
1. How old are you? Three - as he holds up 3 fingers
2. When is your birthday? - July 2nd
3. How old is Mommy? - 4
4. How old is Daddy? - 5
5. What's your favorite movie? Wreck it Ralph
6. What's your favorite thing to eat? - Pancakes (we had pancakes for breakfast) He does like them a lot though.
7. What's your favorite thing to do? Play with friends outside.
8. What makes you happy? Mommy and Daddy!
9. What makes you sad? Cameron.
10. Why does Cameron make you sad? - Because he's Wreck-It Ralph right now.
We're working on time now. Quentin often says things that happened yesterday, 2 weeks ago, an hour ago, as last year. You just never know when something happened. :)
Quentin continues to like wearing hats, swinging on the swing and doing boy things, like climbing.. On EVERYTHING!
He's the best big brother! Quentin likes to show Cameron how to play with toys. He tries to share his food with him, and now knows which foods he can and can't share. He knows he has to keep small pieces of toys off the floor so Cameron can't get them, because, "I don't want him to choke." he says.
He transitioned into the 3 year old room at daycare this week, and is doing great! He likes meeting all the new kids, and comes home saying names I'm not familiar with.
We've had quite the eventful last couple weeks with birthday things and play dates. On Monday, Grandma Nancy came over and brought way too many gifts. Quentin loves them all, even the clothes.
Cameron liked Q's gifts too.
On Tuesday, his actual birthday, we met up with Wyatt, Jackson, Stella and Nolan for a little Imagination Playground. The kids had fun, and it was fun to watch them interact with each other.
Afterwards, we had a picnic and walked the Papa John Sculpture park.
Of course, Quentin fell asleep on the way home. That afternoon, we had his doctor appointment. (See Part 1 for his stats). And, after supper, we headed out for his 3 year old pictures. This was the first time I'd actually gotten his pictures taken so close to his birthday. In the past, I think the closest I've been was 2 weeks. For his 1 year birthday pictures, It was a whole month after he'd turned 1.
The next morning, we met up with my friend Wynn, and her kiddo's for a little play date. They had fun, chasing each other, and playing hide-n-seek.
Enjoying a little snack.
Wednesday night, we headed to Grandma Nancy's house for supper and to watch the fireworks. She lives right down the street from a park, and has perfect viewing of the fireworks from Prairie Meadows.
Cameron LOVED the swing!
This past Saturday, we had a little get together with all Quentin's friends. No gifts, nothing fancy, just cake, ice cream, and water! The kids had a lot of fun and we were so glad most everyone could make it.
