Before we get to Quentin's birthday, lets backtrack a little to last week/weekend..... Bondurant's Summerfest is always on the last Wednesday and Thursday in June, and ends with fireworks. We headed to the parade on Wednesday and Quentin loved running out to get the candy. Thursday night, we let Quentin stay up for fireworks. All the kids loved them.
We didn't actually think about bringing a sack for candy. Most parades don't allow candy to be thrown anymore, so we were a little unprepared. And, thankfully Cameron was asleep, so we didn't have to worry about him getting the candy.

| Yes, Cameron is in pajamas. He goes to bed too early. ;( |
After the parade, we walked to the summerfest festival, got some dinner and walked around. Quentin loved it, and it was a pretty hoppin' place for such a small town.
Thursday, Quentin an I headed to Julian's last baseball game. Quentin is still talking about it. Julian did really well, and got a couple really good hits.
Quentin and Julian got to run and play on the bases for a few minutes afterwards. I can't wait until Quentin and can play next spring.
Since Quentin was such a good listener at the game, I promised him DQ. So, we met up with my cousin Kristy and Emily and got some ice cream. Emily and Quentin had a good time playing.
Saturday morning, we headed to Jeremy's company picnic at Adventureland. I can't even remember the last time I was there, it's been at least a good 10 years. It's amazing that even after a fire, it's exactly the same, with a few additions. I was impressed with how maintained it was though for some reason.
Quentin loved most of the rides, the few he could actually go on. He wasn't such a fan of the tea cups. I'd forgotten how fast they actually went.
| Cameron came too - and, he didn't even sleep. |
Saturday afternoon, Jeremy decided to put Quentin's birthday present together. We got him a John Deere ride on thing. We've had it for months, and Jeremy has been itching to give it to him since. He finally couldn't wait any longer, and got it all put together while Quentin napped. We intentionally got a 2 seater one for future use of both Cameron and Quentin riding it together. I have to admit, the thing is pretty cool. It has 2 speeds, and goes in reverse. The back even lifts up and the tailgate comes down. We never had anything this cool when I was his age.

We had to actually re-arrange our garage a little for all his ride on toys to fit in there. I'd get rid of a few, but most days, they all get used by one kid or another.
Now, onto more birthday fun! We had Quentin's check up this afternoon, and as expected, he's doing awesome. Dr. Schute was impressed with his vocabulary and coloring skills. One thing they asked is if he could do, that we've never actually tried, was hop on one foot. Pretty entertaining to watch Quentin try, and he did pretty good for his first time. But, it reminded me of the time, my dad was trying to show KaVon how to do jumping jacks. I'm sure I have a picture to share somewhere, but, seens how KaVon is now 14, that was like 10 computers ago. It was quite hilarious.
Quentin amazes us daily with the things he knows and says. At 3 years, Quentin weighs 31 pounds (42%) and is 37 3/4 tall (56%). I was dreading shots, but turns out, there aren't any!! They did take his blood pressure though, and I've never seen such a tiny cuff - So cute!
We also brought Cameron to the doctor with us. He spiked a 102.2 fever on Sunday, and was gone by late Sunday night. I wanted to make sure an ear infection wasn't coming on, and it's not. We're chalking it up to some short lived virus.
Other random pictures over the weekend..
