April

I already blogged about Easter, so I'll skip over that. But, we had a pretty eventful April. The weather was fairly decent as well, so thats always a bonus.

Once again, I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Ben went to the doctor a lot in April. Mostly for ear infections. This picture is from April 7th, and was given Sulfa for his ear infection. We scheduled an appointment with an ENT, but earliest we could get in was first week of May.

Cam isn't a huge fan of his helmet, perhaps
because it's too small. ha!

Frodo hates having his picture taken, as you can see.

Hooray for new bikes! Quentin has outgrown his old bike and was way overdue for a new one. So, him and Jeremy picked this one out and he LOVES it. As you can see, he even can ride standing up. Won't be long before he's riding without hands. EEEK!

We hit up the Iowa Cubs open house. The kids had fun running around in the outfield. They gave away free hotdogs and a pairs of tickets to a game.

Quentin didn't want his picture
with Grover, but agreed to a high-five.

We had soccer games every Tuesday and Saturday. Quentin played best on Saturdays. The games seemed much more advanced than last year, so a lot more fun to watch.

Ben was usually a good sport and didn't try to run on the field.

Cam didn't sit still - He wanted to play too.

We were back to the doc with Ben on the 17th - day 10 of Sulfa, and he has some sort of reaction. At this point, we weren't sure if it was the sulfa, or if something else was the cause. Don't worry though, he's still happy. And, his ear infection was mostly cleared up at this point.

On April 21st - we were once again back to the doctor.. This time for Pink eye. He was sent home from daycare with pink eye. We already had some drops at home, so just used those.. well, sure enough, they contain Sulfa, and his eyes reacted immediately. He cried for a half hour straight, full out cry. I think it probably burned his eyes. So, Jeremy took him to the dr. Poor kid looks awful! So we now have special eye drops for Ben if and when he gets pink eye again.

I painted a wall in our kitchen with chalkboard paint. It turned out pretty well and I use it a lot. The kids also like drawing on it.

Other pictures from April....

They really do play well together most of the time.

I think Jeremy has yet to win at Candy Land

How Cam eats a taco

I try to let the kids help with dinner as much as possible
and often times we make things just because they can help
with them. This night was quesadillas, which they LOVE

Many nights Ben just can't stay up long enough for supper.

Quentin continues to be a good big brother and share.

apparently, french toast sounded good while
driving around the neighborhood.

Ready, Set, Hike! Q is a quick learner to wear a helmet while
playing football.

Cam "doing work," as he says.

The neighbor girl is a 2 months older than Ben, and just
LOVES him. She's always trying to sit on his lap, pet
him, and anything else she can do to be touching him.
I signed up for my first half marathon - Dam to Dam, I ran on the trails around town, which are very nice. This one happened to be a rainier day, which are my favorite kind.
